Viasuisse AG is a partnership of SRG SSR idée suisse, TCS, SBB and Skymedia/Traffix. In contrast to a pure customer relationship, the engagement of the partners SRG SSR idée suisse, TCS, SBB and Skymedia/Traffix in Viasuisse AG facilitates a substantial participation in the further development of the traffic information agency.
SRG SSR idée suisse As founding shareholder, SRG SSR idée suisse is at the same time one of Viasuisse's largest clients. All programs in the three parts of Switzerland receive the traffic information direct from Biel. The Viasuisse data is also used for television and the internet.
TCS Touring Club Schweiz The second largest shareholder in Viasuisse is very well established in Switzerland with approximately 1.7 million members. Traffic information is an important service which Touring Club Schweiz provides for their members. Data for the internet traffic-congestion card also comes from Biel.
Swiss federal railways As a shareholder SBB supplies Viasuisse AG with the latest reports on public transport. Viasuisse AG operates information number 166 for SBB. The purpose is to give timely comprehensive information to rail passengers about train cancellations and delays. Passengers receive this information direct at the station or in the train. People can use the numbers 166 and 163 to obtain information about rail travel at any time, even during a journey.
Traffix / Skymedia The traffic information division at Skymedia, Traffix was taken over by Viasuisse in 2003. As a local newsroom for the greater Zurich area / Eastern Switzerland, Traffix collects and disseminates travel information for Viasuisse and they work on the same database as the headquarters in Biel. On the stations Radio24, Radio Zürisee and Radio Top the travel information is presented live by Traffix staff.
ASTRA - Swiss Federal Roads Authority As of the beginning of 2008, responsibility for the Swiss national highways was transferred from the Cantons to the Confederation. Within the framework of the "Swiss Traffic Management" ASTRA project, Viasuisse took over the mandate as the "Swiss Traffic Information Centre" and is therefore responsible for providing information on traffic using the entire national highways network. Viasuisse is also a long-standing partner to ASTRA for www.truckinfo.ch and is mandated by the Federal Highways Department to draw up statistics and evaluations on road traffic, which are then used for comprehensive studies.
