The term 'traffic telematics' refers to the use of technical equipment for traffic information. This includes in particular cameras which produce images of strategically important points on a continuous basis and convey them by web. Critical sections of roads are in some cases also equipped with sensors which allow a more accurate calculation of journey times. This sphere is to be developed in future, in connection with cities and cantons.
